The Sixth Congressional District Democratic Committee of Virginia covers all or part of the counties of Alleghany, Augusta, Bath, Botetourt, Clarke, Frederick, Highland, Page, Roanoke, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Shenandoah, and Warren. It includes the cities of Buena Vista, Covington, Harrisonburg, Lexington, Roanoke, Salem, Staunton, Waynesboro, and Winchester.

Sam Rasoul easily takes Roanoke House of Delegates seat

140108 Sam Rasoul The Democratic Party held just one House of Delegates seat west of Richmond, and Tuesday night they held onto it.

Easily.

Sam Rasoul shook off past failures to be elected to Congress and as Roanoke mayor to drub Republican former Roanoke Sheriff Octavia Johnson in a special election for the 11th District House of Delegates by a nearly 3-to-1 margin. The seat was vacated by Democrat Onzlee Ware, who resigned in November to spend more time with his ailing mother.
