Purpose of the Award
The Emerging Leaders Award will be awarded to a Young Democrat, 30 years-old or younger, that has played an integral part in helping build your local committee and elect Democrats.
Examples:
– YD elected to an officer position and has served the committee relentlessly in 2012
– Collaborated with Organizing for America and hosted weekly phone banks
– Started a YD Chapter in a county, city, or school
– Ran for office
– Led voter registration efforts
– Volunteered whenever asked by committee leadership
Eligibilty:
– Member of local committee
– 30 years or younger
Nominations:
A nominating letter which contains a 250-word description of the YD being nominated.
